With fairly low air pressure and virtually no wind, conditions were ideal for fast times. Aaron Fillion, who has improved on every ABC 40km time trial, set a new course record of 50:23, that is 47.635km/h! The previous course best of 51:17 was also set by Aaron on 2010-Aug-08 under less favourable conditions - higher air pressure, cooler and windier. Second place Warren MacDonald (52:28) set a PB today but did not ride on the day of Aaron's previous course record, but third place rider Michael Nash (52:42) and fourth place Glen Rendall (53:53) were among the riders who rode both today and on 2010-Aug-08 and were faster today. All four of these men were faster today than they were on any previous attempt on this course. Fastest ABC man was Shawn Hamilton (1:04:27) in a course PB. Overall twelve riders posted their fastest time yet on this course, with Paul Young and Craig Burge improving their cube speed by more than 15%! The women's field was very small today at only 3 starters. First place Alicia Berthiaume (1:08:29) was doing her first ride on this course. Stephanie Rees (1:10:09) took a minute and 59 seconds off of her previous best on this course, while Sally Datars (1:11:35) was 2 minutes and 27 seconds off of her best of 1:09:08 set on 2006-Jul-09.
